This first year ’87 Stratocaster Plus would be a very nice addition to any fan looking to add this very rare Fiesta Red and early “Bob” body to their collection. Loaded with three Fender Lace Sensor Gold pickups plus the TBX tone circuit this guitar has power and punch. She’s in excellent condition and was a collector owned instrument. It was very well cared for. Case candy is great, and the deluxe hardshell case is very rare as well.
Modifications include the installation of string trees and when we got the guitar it had one Gold, Blue and Red Lace Sensor pickup installed. We restored it with two original Gold Lace Sensors and a third we had in the shop into the bridge position.
If you’re unfamiliar with the “BOB” bodies of the initial American Strat Plus in 1987, basically for the first few months of production, they followed the body contours of the Fullerton era vintage reissue Stratocaster’s giving these more unique curves than the ones they eventually settled into a few months after.
